biography
For the past nineteen years Mr. Adrian J. Gutierrez (better known as Aj Prats, the instigator) has been an active Thespian in our community. After studying at MDCC with a major in Drama Education he found a home as the Artistic Director of the CGYC Childrens Theatre where he designed and directed such productions as "The Wizard of Oz", "Stand and Deliver", "The Sound of Music", "Beauty and the Beast", and "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". He has also developed and directed drama programs at schools such as Miami Edison Middle, Coconut Grove Elementary, Allapatah Middle, Hebrew Academy, and The JCC.
In 2001 he became the founder/creator and Producing Artistic Director of DulceArt Works Inc., a non-profit arts network that facilitates performing and visual arts companies. His mission is to create a developmental exchange of talent by bridging the artistic divide between children and adult performers through all forms of arts programming. Serving as "a jack of all trades", Aj designed flyers and websites, took publicity photos, wrote grant proposals that were awarded, created marketing plans, and managed staff. Since this time he has also produced several productions through the DulceArt Works umbrella that include "Othello", "The Groom’s Ghost", "The Miracle Worker", "Annie", "Popeye The Musical", "Disneys Cinderlla", "Disneys Sleeping Beauty" and several others.
As well as officiating the task of teacher and director, he volunteered his time each year to the Dade County Youth Fair as an Assistant Superintendent and adjudicating the International Junior and Senior High Thespian Competitions. In 2002, he served as a Theatre Instructor for Arts for Learning Miami teaching at local inner city schools through the After School All Stars program. In 2003, he implemented and instructed the very first drama program at the Hebrew Academy Elementary and Middle School in Miami Beach. In 2006, looking to expand his visual arts credits he got a job as a Photographer at Studio One to One in Miami, taking Portrait Shots of children and adults.
In 2010, he moved to LA where he trained with The Groundlings Comedy Theatre in West Hollywood, CA. His quest was to refine his comedic skills to create material for his alter ego persona, PeeVira. Some of his other acting credits include: Duke of Krackenthorp in "The Daughter of the Regiment" (Florida Grand Opera), Charlie in "The House of Ramon Iglesias" (Splendor of the Arts), Jesus in "The Odd Couple" female version (CGYC Theatre), Club Dancer in "I Love You Phillip Morris" (Europa Corp) and Funcionario in "La Mujer De Mi Vida" (FonoVideo).
Currently, Aj lives in Orlando FL with his two beautiful mini-schnauzers, while traveling to Miami FL monthly. He performs at Universal Orlando Resort and Nickelodeon Suites Resort in several shows as various roles. In support of his interest for fitness he enjoys going to the gym, doing yoga, swimming, learning ballet, and taking Improv classes (yes...it's physical work). In his spare time (what’s that?) he loves celebrating life by going to the movies, concerts, theme parks, dinners, clubbing (to drink and dance the night away), online flirting, shopping, game nights, pool/beach days, massages, and relaxing in the hot tub.
He furthers his contribution to the arts by continuing his mission in the DulceArt Works organization and developing new projects.
